The law outlines 4 major areas of responsibility for these Councils
- Adopting educational goals for the school that are consistent with local educational policies and statewide student performance standards
- Identifying the educational needs of students attending the school
- Reviewing the annual school building budget
- Reviewing the school improvement plan
School Council members serve a two-year term. We typically hold elections for School Council members in the spring of each year, but were unable to do that this year due to school closures.
We plan to hold 4-5 School Council meetings this school year which will occur remotely through Zoom or another online platform, and meetings will be scheduled in the evenings.
During this school year, the School Council will be involved in developing the School Improvement Plan with a particular focus on anti-bias and equity education, planning and carrying out action steps related to these goals, and reviewing academic and behavioral data for Wood End School.
